An Oregon Citizens’ Initiative panel voted 19-5 earlier this month to endorse Measure 85, which would eliminate the corporate “kicker” tax refund, on the November ballot. A Saturday City/Region story incorrectly said the panel voted to oppose the measure.
Private casinos could hurt the gaming revenues of existing tribal casinos. The Oregon Lottery, and businesses with Oregon video lottery terminals close to prospective private casino sites, would most likely lose money if private casinos opened.
