Restoring Trust in Democracy: How You Can Make a Difference
Restoring Trust in Democracy: How You Can Make a Difference is a public awareness event about Healthy Democracy's Citizens Jury work this fall.
Models of citizen participation abound in democratic life in southern Oregon. And yet, most surveys still point to a growing distrust among citizens and their governing institutions. Can we imagine a new kind of democracy that gives citizens real power, truly diverse representation, and most of all, shared responsibility for solving tough problems of public concern?
Join us to learn about Healthy Democracy's experience with transformational models of lottery-based, citizen-centered deliberative democracy and how they can be adopted in the community of Ashland. Bring your creativity and your passion for helping to build a democracy that is truly by the people, for the people.
